The small but rich Canton of Zug, whose tax laws attract many global corporate headquarters, comes more and more under pressure to allow for a higher land utilization in the town of Zug. The town ordered a study from us to obtain rules for a possible further granting of building permissions for high-rises. Our study proposed a likely area for high-rises and a series of site-specific and compositionally typical rules for their erection: e.g. the effect of the ensemble between high-rise and existing buildings, a definition of specific sites in the town plan, the rhythm in harmony with the existing high-rises and the effect from afar as part of the topography.
